Bhantoi – Summit of the Lost Horizon

Start your journey with a scenic 238 km drive from Kathgodam to Dau, a picturesque village at 2,000m. Arrive in the evening and settle into a homestay.

In the evening, attend a briefing session by the trek leader to understand the expedition plan and safety protocols.

Begin your 7 km trek, starting with a 2 km descent to the Pindar River, followed by a 5 km ascent through dense forests, leading to Jaitoli, the last inhabited village on this route.

Overnight stay in a homestay or tent, surrounded by serene Himalayan beauty.

Embark on a 12 km trek through lush forests and alongside riverbanks. The route is filled with mesmerizing landscapes and diverse flora. Arrive at Kathaliya (3,250m) before sunset and camp for the night.

Trek 4 km steeply uphill to Baluni Top, where you’ll witness spectacular views of Panwali Dwar and Maiktoli Peaks. Continue another 4 km to reach Base Camp (4,200m), the staging point for your summit attempt.

A relatively short but high-altitude 5 km trek takes you to Advance Base Camp (4,800m). The trail crosses moraines and rocky terrain, with unpredictable weather conditions. Rest and acclimatize at the campsite.

Trek 3 km to Camp 1 (5,200m), a crucial acclimatization stop. The advance team sets up the camp as the expedition leader gives final instructions for the summit attempt.

Start early for an exhilarating summit attempt (5,645m). The climb involves steep snow slopes and technical sections. After reaching the Bhanoti Peak summit, enjoy breathtaking views of Nanda Devi, Panwali Dwar, Maiktoli, and other Himalayan peaks. Descend back to Advance Base Camp for a well-earned rest.

Descend 10 km via the sacred Devi Kund, a glacial lake nestled in the high mountains. The descent requires careful navigation over moraines and scree. Reach Kathaliya and camp for the night.

Retrace your steps along the 12 km trail back to Jaitoli. The return journey offers a chance to reflect on your achievements and enjoy the serene surroundings.

Complete the final 7 km trek, descending 5 km to the Pindar River, followed by a 2 km ascent to Dau. Celebrate the successful completion of your adventure with your team.

A buffer day is reserved for weather delays or acclimatization issues. If everything goes as planned, use this day to explore the surroundings or rest before the return journey.
