The Panchachuli Base Camp Trek offers an incredible mix of scenic beauty and adventure. Set at an elevation of 4,260 meters, the trek leads you to the mesmerizing Panchachuli Base Camp, with the five majestic peaks of Panchachuli soaring grandiosely in the background. The tallest of these peaks, Panchachuli II, stands at an impressive 6,904 meters, while the other peaks - Panchachuli I (6,355 meters), Panchachuli III (6,312 meters), Panchachuli IV (6,334 meters), and Panchachuli V (6,437 meters) - add to the awe-inspiring panorama.

Short Day Hike: This trek is ideal for those looking for a short yet fulfilling adventure, with a day hike of just 4-5 kilometers.

Sunrise Views: From Dantu Village, you’ll witness one of the most spectacular sunrises, with the golden light illuminating the snow-capped peaks of Panchachuli.

Day 01 :

Kathgodam to Dharchula (940m) – A Scenic Drive into the Himalayas

Your journey begins with an early morning pickup from Kathgodam, the entry point to the Kumaon Himalayas. From here, we set off on a 9-10 hour drive to the border town of Dharchula, located on the banks of the Kali River, which separates India and Nepal.

The road winds through picturesque hill stations like Almora, Pithoragarh, and Jauljibi, offering mesmerizing views of the mountains and valleys. By evening, we reach Dharchula, where you can check into a comfortable hotel and take a relaxing stroll by the river.

Day 02 :

Dharchula to Dantu (2,250m) – Journey into the Heart of Darma Valley

After breakfast, we continue our journey deeper into the Darma Valley, home to some of the most scenic villages in the Himalayas.

The 5-6 hour drive takes us through Sobla, Tawaghat, and New Sobla, where the landscape shifts from dense forests to traditional mountain hamlets. By afternoon, we arrive in Dantu, a quaint village surrounded by towering peaks and lush meadows.

Here, we settle into a cozy guesthouse, sip on hot tea, and absorb the peaceful atmosphere of this remote Himalayan paradise.

Day 03 :

Trek to Panchachuli Base Camp (3,960m) & Back to Dantu – A Day with the Himalayas

Today is the most anticipated day! After an early breakfast, we begin our 5 km trek (one way) to the Panchachuli Base Camp.

The trail is moderate yet rewarding, taking us through alpine meadows, gushing streams, and dense forests, with the majestic Panchachuli peaks constantly in sight. As we reach the base camp, a breathtaking Himalayan panorama unfolds, with towering snow-clad peaks and glaciers right in front of us.

After soaking in the beauty and capturing some stunning photographs, we trek back to Dantu by evening.

Day 04 :

Dantu to Dharchula/Pithoragarh – Retracing Our Steps

After a relaxed morning and breakfast, we bid farewell to Darma Valley and drive back to Dharchula or Pithoragarh.

Enjoy the serene landscapes one last time, as we slowly descend through the winding roads. If staying in Pithoragarh, you can explore local attractions like Pithoragarh Fort or Kapileshwar Mahadev Temple.

Day 05 :

Dharchula/Pithoragarh to Kathgodam – A Scenic Return

We start early in the morning for our drive back to Kathgodam. The 9-10 hour journey gives you one last chance to enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the Kumaon region.

By evening, we reach Kathgodam, where your incredible Himalayan adventure comes to an end.
